West Norfolk Recycling Awards will be awarded to West Norfolk residents who have earned the most Green Points in their area.  Residents need to activate their Recycling Awards account to take part, and be put into one of five communities, depending on what their waste collection day is (To register please click here).  Waste and recycling levels will be measured across each community and the increase in recycling and decrease in waste will be awarded Green Points.  Residents can also earn extra Green Points by reporting their recycling and reducing contamination.  Each month, the resident who has earned the most Green Points in their community will win a £50 voucher, and two runners up will receive £25 vouchers.  The winners and runners up can choice to have their vouchers from: Marks and Spencers, Majestic Cinema, iTunes and National Garden.

Local charities and community projects will also benefit from £6,000 in donations in the first year. The donation money will be split between the communities, with the community in which residents have earned the most Green Points receiving the biggest share. Residents can vote for which of six local projects they’d like to see receive their community’s share of the money – Scotty’s Little Soldiers, West Norfolk Mind, Festival Too, Norfolk Hospice, Hospital Radio Lynn and the Rotary Club of King’s Lynn.
